Shunts

Ready for all shunt activities

Description:

Shunts are used for the indirect logging of electrical currents with high current strengths. The shunts are manufactured in compliance with the requirements of DIN 43 703 for current strengths from 1 A to 20,000 A and voltage drops from 60 mV to 300 mV. Other nominal magnitudes of current and voltage drop, different from the DIN series, can be supplied on request.

Functional principle
The current flowing through the shunt generates a voltage drop, which can be measured using a measuring device switched in parallel. The parallel switching of the shunt and the measuring device means that voltage measuring equipment can be used to measure current or the measuring ranges of existing current measuring equipment can be increased. Depending on the nominal current, the shunts are manufactured in 3 different designs.
